Hot Seat Rankings: Post-week five
Eww Pig Sooie - Sam Pittman
Sam Pittman seems like a great guy. He brought a different kind of energy to Arkansas, and by all accounts loved Fayetteville. College football needs more head coaches like him, if we're being honest. Unfortunately, somebody's gotta lose the games after they kick off. Pittman did too much of that the past few years, and going out like this to Notre Dame in the first half alone was the final straw:

His firing was inevitable. Now it puts even more spotlight on hot seat coaches around the country.
1. Billy Napier - Florida (1-3) (Last week: 1)
Figuring out what to say about hot seat coaches after they had a bye week is always difficult, so here's what we'll go with for Napier:
Consistency is one of the most valuable traits in sports, business, and really any aspect of life. In a world rapidly changing and moving to the next thing seemingly every second, being able to count on something for years on end is a priceless commodity. That's why I love Billy Napier.
On October 4, 2024, I had him No. 1 in my hot seat rankings. 364 days later, he's No. 1 in my hot seat rankings again. Billy Napier makes operating 2StripesCPD easier, and I thank him for that. Here's the twist, though: I'm calling for Florida to upset Texas tomorrow, leading to national discussion about whether his seat is any cooler. Spoiler: It won't be. Next week we'll discuss exactly why he'll still be No. 1, even after a win.
2. Luke Fickell - Wisconsin (2-2) (Last week: 2)
No game for Wisconsin meant the heat from their ugly loss to Maryland cooled things down a bit for Fickell, at least outside of Madison. That's about all the good news there is for him at the moment. His starting QB is still likely out, and tomorrow his offense averaging 20.8 points per game (108th nationally) plays Michigan on the road.
You will never make my hot seat rankings if you upgrade to 2StripesCPD premium
3. Joe Moorhead - Akron (1-4) (Last week: 4)
Akron had just 148 yards of offense in their 45-3 loss at Toledo. Their longest gain (16 yards) came from their punter....off his own blocked punt:
