Throwback video: Emmitt Smith runs for 316 yards on New Mexico
This guy broke a few records in his career.
Happy (?) Monday. Here are some throwback highlights to start the week! Today's video is a look back at when Emmitt Smith ran 31 times for 316 yards and 3 touchdowns against New Mexico on October 21, 1989. Not only was it a great performance, but also a historic one. In this game, Smith became Florida's all-time leading rusher –A record Errict Rhett broke four years later–, set the SEC record for rushing yards in a single game –reset by Darren McFadden's 321 in 2007–, and broke the record for most career touchdowns in Gators history. (You can probably guess who has that record now.)
