When it comes time to talk about the best pure skill-position players to ever play college football, Percy Harvin should be one of the first names mentioned. His dynamic playmaking and versatility gave Urban Meyer's Florida offenses the ultimate weapon, and the perfect complement to Tim Tebow's ground-and-pound physicality. In the era that started the SEC's near-two decade run of dominance over the rest of college football, Harvin was the conference's best player. He always showed out when the lights were at their brightest, and was one of the main reasons the Gators have four combined SEC and BCS Title trophies from 2006-2008 on display at their football facility.
Other players throughout college football history have split time playing receiver/running back and done it well, but no one's done it like Harvin - before or since. His stats as a receiver alone (133 catches, 1,929 yards, and 13 touchdowns) are enough for him to go down as a top-10/15 wideout in Florida history. He'd be much higher if he didn't also have 1,852 yards out of the backfield.

Of the 30 players in Gators history with over 1,500 rushing yards, Harvin is the only one to do it in fewer than 200 carries (194). The next closest is Ciatrick Fason with 1,877 yards on 315 carries. For perspective, Fason had just 25 more yards than Harvin on 121 more carries. Harvin was essentially a guaranteed first down every time he touched the ball in the backfield at 9.5 yards per carry for his career:
When you combine it all together, Harvin had 3,781 total yards on 327 touches. 32 of those went for touchdowns, and nearly all of them were masterpieces.
